Toasted bagels with marmite, hummus, avocado and tomato ..... with 'Into the Woods' on the stereo.
Now, that's what I call a vegan lunch! :)

Marmite's pretty natural (excluding some added vitamins) - it was a by-product of the brewing industry (thus 'yeast extract'). It's good for us veggies - source of B12.

I've just grabbed the bottle to look at the ingredients -
yeast extract (contains barley, wheat, rye)
salt
vegetable juice concentrate
vitamins (thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B12 and folic acid)
natural flavouring (contains celery)

right - i'm with you there Steam! - on a personal level i have wondered over the year's what the food processing is for extracting/concentration in a lot of food products? - factory stuff/shelf life/pizza - soup etc. - i guess - marmite sound's like bovril-ish stuff - done me time with the lovely bovril! - full of preservative's though and why not? - everything in moderation!

I've been told Marmite is an example of the Japanese 'umami' flavour that we in the west don't have a word for. Maybe why people have such a (clichéed since Marmite's rather successful ad campaign) love or hate relationship with it?

It looks like Bovril but really nothing like it - except salty maybe?

yeah - salt used to be the silent killer - now it's sugar! - drank some oolong tea earlier (ginger and lemon brew) - and for dinner wolfed a bucket load of Irish stew - gonna do a thai curry tomorrow! - basmati rice of course!

My guts really react badly to sugar now. But I really crave it when down and depressed - the mind/body is a troublesome vessel sometimes!

I've got to lick this thing...

The extended headaches are god awful.

I really think the USA needs to alot me enough funds for actual food again and meanwhile my cat has become a true food junkie-fiend.
Thank god he prefers dry food.

I always found dry cat food lead to much less stinky and unpleasant 'little cat accidents'.

indeed! - i sometimes get sugar craving's too and could drink a fanta easily - the blood sugar level's can vary quite dramatically over the course of a day - sometimes i get really tired - if i get that craving i tend to hit the fruit - grapefruits/oranges/blueberries/pink lady apples - plus cod liver oil and porridge!
