Merseyhawk wrote: Hello stevie k, I will try to review it for ya. It might be a mess so forgive my amateurism. Here goes.
TRACK1 - YASSASIM, Starts with some nice synth blips, bass and tribal drum machines kick in to establish the pace of the tune. Simon starts some fierce electric violin over the top. Back to synth/keys for a few verses before Simons back with some angry violin dittys. Stays pretty much the same with violin verses and synth/keys verses until the end of the song, great drumbeats throughout. Running time 7.41.
TRACK2 - ORION, Nice gentle tune after the madness of the opening track. Starts with a bit of violin before the synths/keys kick in to get the tune going. Mainly soft violins and its quite a nice ambient tune. Great bendy synth/keys. Running time 8.40. TRACK3 - NORTHLANDS, Synthy start with some nice soft cymbal work in the backround. Slow build up, a little bit of drums into a soft bit of violins, almost reminds me of the sea. Synthy mid section with some church like keyboard bits, nice piano work and some more serious violin playing. I think its got an Irish feel to it in places. Running time 15.33.
TRACK4 - OMEDLOR RIDES AGAIN, Sort of a Harvey Bainbridge sounding synth intro. A mid paced tune, tribal drum patern with electric guitar? sounds from the synths/keys along with some nice violin. Running time 7.24.
TRACK5 - LAITHWAITE STARDRIVE, Starts with some nice synths/keys work. Drums kick in some more synths/keys guitar? Some nice short violin solos. Running time 6.19.
TRACK6 - NEUROSCAPE, Nice spacey intro on synths with violin. A dancey beat to tap your toes along with, a good violin tune with some nice synth swooshes. Nice weird tune, I like it. Running time 7.43.
TRACK7 - SHERWOOD, Synthy start, oriental Chinese feel to this one with dulcimer, drums, synths/keys and violin. Pretty mellow sort of like a Chinese Robin Hood on acid. Running time 4.30.
TRACK8 - OLDAYZE, Nice violin and keys start. A slow tune, violin and keys carry on then drums. Another almost oriental to this but not as prominent as sherwood. Running time 4.49.
The sound quality on the Emergency Broadcast System copy is not that great. I suggest playing it louder. Hope this has helped. It IS woryh buying. Thanks for your help MH. This sounds like it might be worth parting with some hard earned cash for. Will try Amazon, cos there service is allways top dog. "Thanks" again.
