Not sure if I am that keen on this one yet. A few more listens required me thinks.

Following on from the Steven Wilson gig I expanded my Porcupine Tree collection (only had 2 studio albums), so my recent listening included:

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream, Lightbulb Sun, Fear of a Blank Planet

Lightbulb Sun didn't grab me as much but overall, great stuff.

Ooooh there's some good stuff there. 'Deadwing' is a superb if you don't have that, get that next.

The early stuff is not up to much to my ears. It's basically Steven Wilson making noises in his bedroom. And I do hope he pays Hawkwind royalties for ripping off 'Magnu' on 'Out' off Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape!

Ok I haven't heard much of the early stuff. The only ones I had were The Sky Moves Sideways, Signify and Coma Divine (live).

Never really heard a strong HW influence in those, more Pink Floyd, but even then I think that's sometimes overstated by some... very apparent on certain tracks for sure. Not really as evident on the post Signify material.

Deadwing is the only one I'm missing now (I probably won't go for stuff before Sky Moves...) and it's on the acquisition list!

Had to strain my mind a bit here, but it's actually a Prince cover of THE CROSS, which as it happens is probably my favorite thing ever by them...
The Hawkwind cover was done later, when they issued vinyl, I think, and if there be subsequent issues of the CD maybe these include it.
I always like to think Steven knew how great the Prince cover is and wanted to keep something special on the real McCoy :)

The Hawkwind cover 'sham'" :) :) ?

here it is. don't die without knowing :) :)
