Hi everybody
My name is Jarrod and i do not proclaim to be a lifelong Hawkwind Fan although in my Youth i did listen to Silver Machine over and over and over and over again (tripping at the time !) along with Planet Gong.

Anyway thats my introduction all be it a bit too honest (I hope my kids don't read this!) and i would like some help with an album i have picked up.
I have Acid Daze which is a 3 LP Box Set and along with that i have the master pressing for it. I've done some research and there's not much out there but its some kind of metal/nickel/silver plates. There are 6 of them in total and i've read that they are either mother/father/daughter or son plates. These plates would have been used to manufactur this record. The year is 1990 so not an old one for Hawkwind. They are in negative format so i guess that the opposite to that would have been the vinyl albums themselves.

I purchased them from a local record/collectable dealer who went into liquidation along with 4500 other vinyls which i am currently listing on discogs under the name of Vinyl-Tap.

Any advice or help or info on these pressings would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jarrod

I had the test-pressing of that set, and I can tell you this issue is basically in itself a regurgitation of the "anthology" set(s). I was never an acetate or metal master collector so my own knowlege grinds to a thud here. What I CAN say is that I hold the private email of the known-world's SICKEST Hawkwind collectors, as they are either friends, were friends, are friends in the making or still are friends....
I can put the word out if you want, do I get a doggie treat??
also, I am assuming you are not in relation to the longstanding UK based operation "Vinyl Tap" , because they in fact, know their Hawkwind stuff pretty well!!!!!

hi mike
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, super quick in fact !

I'm more than happy for you to put the word out about these masters and see if there's any interest out there. And it goes without saying that you'd get more than doggy treats !

If anybody wants any pictures then let me know and i'll happily send them over.

I chose the name Vinyl-Tap on Discogs about a month ago thinking it was a genius idea and stupidly thinking i was the first. So no nothing to do with them at all.

let me know if you have any luck with the masters.

cheers

Jarrod
