Really enjoyed Hawkwind set on Saturday, to see them play at The Hawkfest is so much better than in a venue. We were camped very near to The Space Stage and the atmosphere was brilliant. The Hawkwind set was brilliant ,it was good to hear Who's Gonna Win The War played again, Dave Brock is amazing, Dibs is settling in well Jason is great as is Richard and it's good to see Tim in the line up again, saw him last on the 2002 December tour with Huw Lloyd Langton who i'd love to see in the line up again. Whatever happened to Simon House saw him play on the 2001 tour and on 2003 tour and he is another i'd love to see involved again. But whatever the line up one thing is constant in Hawkwind
Mr Dave Brock a true legend.
I enjoyed Huw's gig, Death of a Clown was good and thought the set came to life when joned by Dave, Tim, and Dibs and the boys, Huw done a great Waiting for Tomorrow, Hurry on Sundown, Moonglum, Rocky Paths, and Space Chase, and i enjoyed Marion's dancing too.Tim Blakes set after Huw's was also a good gig.
I got to see quite a few of the other lesser known bands with many good performances. On Friday i liked Tarantism and The Dooberies. Saturdays best for me was Familiar Looking Strangers who have a great guitarist , his lead guitar playing was so cool they must have smuggled a fridge in and kept him in it all day,and what a great vocalist they have also. The Starfighters were also good along with 3 Daft Monkeys and Tits Of Death and i also liked Syren. Sunday Tosh, and Tragic Roundabout.
The guitar workshop with Dave and Huw was also interesting with some good banter going between the two of them.
A great weekend and thanks must go to Kris and Margaret for all the work put into it.
