Firstly please accept my apologies for the late posting of this message.
I’m afraid there will not be a Hawkfest this year.
The reason it has taken so long to announce this, is that I was still hopeful that we would still be able to go ahead…….I don’t give up easily
As many of you know, a great deal of the responsibility of organising Hawkfest falls upon myself and my mum Margaret.
Unfortunately there have been a few things beyond our control that have conspired against us….one of them being the fact that I have been in hospital twice in the last few months having operations and although I tend to brush these things aside, I have been advised not to take it all on again this summer.
Although I fought against this, I have to admit that my health has made things a bit unpredictable and prevented me from committing 100%.
All of this has eaten away at our organising time and we feel that we would not be able to create a Hawkfest with the attention to detail etc upon which we have always prided ourselves.
The feeling was that it would be better not to have a Hawkfest than to have a substandard or half hearted one……We are really sorry about this, it was not an easy decision believe me. We are aware that some of you have made arrangements to attend this year; we will try and make it up to you.
We are planning a fantastic Hawkfest for 2010, as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations (Which begin 28/29th August 2009).
More news about that when we have it.
I hope you understand…….no one is as disappointed as me….
