Onward, the new Studio album from legendary mavericks: Hawkwind. Recorded at Earth Studios, the eagerly awaited follow-up to Blood of the Earth (2010 Eastworld records) encapsulates the band in full creative flight with a lavish collection of new music. Featuring sound tracks for internet warfare, mantras for self realization and electrical systems checks. Revealing ancient prophecies, aligning constellations, urban violence and touchy feely robots. Unfolding harsh primordial soundscapes heralding a new green millennium. The album seeks to unravel ancient mysteries brought to life with stories of distant past. The rock sure stable line-up starring Dave Brock on vocals, guitar and synthesizer, Richard Chadwick drums and vocals, Tim Blake on Keyboards and Theremin, Mr. Dibs on vocals and bass and Niall Hone on bass, synthesis, sequencing and guitar. The band is currently working on a new multimedia live show for forthcoming dates.

Thats me sorted - ltd vinyl and ltd cd, wonder what the poster is??? Hopefully a big old fold out wall hanging job rather than the modern typical A4 single sheet :) Anyone got any news on this mystery track ?? Or is it a total mystery ?

Yes me too, nicely wrapped ltd vinyl and cd. This all seems so totally right somehow, whereas BOTE never did.
On second thoughts, the artwork has a heck of a lot to do with it Q!

an enticing tracklist; apparently to be featured on all versions
of the release this time (?)
as others here have said, I haven't anticipated a release this
much in quite some time!!

T-minus 50 days 8)

So are we talking 70-80 minutes double album like Electric Tepee, complete with about 15-20 minutes of reworked old stuff? Sounds good to me!

Must wait. Must sit still. Stop fidgeting. Where have my nails gone?

It's possible it's been renamed, or maybe part of another project. "The Hills Have Ears" for example was originally called "The Dreams of Madmen" if someone claiming to be Dibs is to be believed on YouTube.

Titles are difficult things. I was just thinking as I opened this topic, how Onward always makes me think of Management-Speak: "Moving Forward." Either that or else Katherine Jenkins walking in and singing Onward Christian Soldiers. I'm not sure which is worst - both are mentally disturbing.

Not sure about Dreams of Madmen or The Hills Have Ears, either, though I've just seen Mr and Mrs Hill and yes, they do have ears.

However, onward.... (or something)

"Onwards my brave hawkmen , let peace be known in flash gordons name ..."

i can almost feel the psi-sonic waves cleansing my Chakra , how excelent it will be to get some good stuff as the bad vibe squad seem to be getting sadistic in their struggle to possess everything .

"Management-speak," as referred to by Sweep, isn't so very far removed from diplomatic-speak or political code. It did cross my mind that the title "Onward" might be code for "There isn't any 12-minute blanga on this album as we've moved onwards, and it isn't 1972 any more, so bloody get used to it!"

Then I decided I was reading too much into a six-letter word :D

Incidently, I suspected the Hills had ears, otherwise they couldn't be alive with the sound of music. Well, unless they were near the bass bins at a Motorhead gig, I suppose.

I talk to the trees, that's why they put me away (which I'm way too young to know about...).

Anyways, backwards, forwards, onwards. Hey, the Hawks are ON it!

Yes...finally....Another year of freedom listening once again to my fellow tribe of intergalactic nomads.
It's not like buying a cd or an album...it's more like investing into a wonderful, reoccurring daydream that disappears as if lost forever and then pop's back up when least expected.
Hawkwind...the cosmic jokesters.
Onwards forward upside down.

"Onward" make me think:
Dave Brock wrote:Only the rushing is heard
Onward flies the bird

Dave Brock wrote:The man of ice melts in shameless tears
The journey onward, it never ends

Dave Brock wrote:The path goes onward through the night
Beyond the realms of ancient light

Dave Brock wrote:Onward crunching munching men
Star Cannibal has come again

[edit] ..onward we stagger into the space..

Interestingly all from tracks performed live recently (The second as In The Footsteps of the Great One). It's no wonder the word stuck in their minds...
