Hi,
Just got an email to vote in the UK Festival Awards but I can't vote because they have left out the best festival of all - HAWKFEST.

Not sure how you get on the list or whether it is a case of providing "Marketing funds" to Virtual Festivals, but there in the catagory of Small Festivals there surely should be an entry for Hawkfest!

God these things make me unnaturally angry - I am going to have to find a cat to kick now and its all the fault of the UK Festival Awards.

The whole thing sounds rather mainstream to me. Thats what Hawkwind and the following are definately not. Sounds like an ignore and run away moment to me.

if i recall correctly Hawkfest does not even come under their definition of a festival by the fact that you need to be a passport holder to attend (or at least know a passport holder!)

the reason i say this is that we tried to promote, i think the 2007 event on this and one of the festival forum sites and were removed pretty quickly for the reasons stated above.

thought it petty at the time, and still do now for that matter

regards

dave

ps talking of festivals in general, whenever i seem to switch on to watch any of the coverage of leeds/reading or t in the park i was always seem to catch scotish indie rockers biffy clyro, whether this is just coincidence or they actually get more air time thasn other bands i'm not sure but for that reason alone i find them tedious beyond belief, howeve self same band has just released a single called god and satan, the b-side (if you stil call them that) is called HAWKWIND!!!!! to have a listen click below
