I got The Machine Stops in the mail today.
I've listened to it once and was impressed by the sound clarity and lack
of compression on most tracks.
Hexagone reminds me of No Good Trying from The Madcap Laughs.
I'm going to be playing this cd constantly for a while now.
Dave has still got what it takes.
(You guys rock Hawkwind.)

Still waiting ......

I've been in touch with Cherry Red and apparantly it was dispatched on the 14th so it seems it's been lost on the post - hopefully, they are sorting it out.

I wonder if the people who have 'get rich quick' ideas ever get rich quick?

I guess it depends on how realistic the get rich quick plan actually is. This is quite clearly an idiot trap set by an idiot. Do people ever fall for ploys like this?

I think that's probably code for 'not in stock' - it seems fairly common practice on ebay to put a ridiculously high price for out of stock goods without having to pull the listing. When the items come back in stock, they adjust the prices back down. It probably saves listing fees or something.

Not sure if I've commented yet (I may have) as the last couple of weeks have been a blur. I love the album - and honestly think it's one of their best in years. Maybe the best since Alien 4, for me.

My "combobulator" "Hawkwind machine" (stereo system) which is now maybe (in my head) "renamed" to the "godulator" since (friend here) named Bob told me his forename is actually "Christos" ........ is ___SO___ ready...

This is because he (friend named Bob) gave me the Sony TA9000ES, which has turned out to be the best thing life has had to offer and is a reason for me to fear death :)

This was about a day or hours before my other local Hawkwind friend told me he will likely be getting a surround home theater set-up made by SONOs and it was all too much.
I took electrical tape and blocked the Ys on the 2 Sony front components.

Now they are SONs.

I do, however, wish Bob's parents would have given him that name rather than the church (as it turns out) but it matters not.

Please forgive if I come across "me me me".... it is intended as "Hawkwind Hawkwind Hawkwind" and I don't want to quote what an old friend Mark Lewis just said about the current band and tour verbatim.

In short: STELLAR

Ello Nameloc!

I've got The Machine Stops playing in my car and on a constant loop
in my motersickle garage.
It's another grower of a piece and needs a lot of listens to appreciate fully.
Right now Life On Earth is playing in my head constantly.
Yes,...it is certainly a definitive Hawkwind album and very time specific.
It's like a 43 year trance that one daren't leave.

That's great Mike-C(anada)!!!

while I know people do have it, (and I managed to) hear it was great a "long time" ago, you seem to be quick on the draw again and as usual it seems proper to me.

Keep playing it.

When it hits Dallas (I mean me) things get seriouser and seriouser hehehehe lol

Welp, I see the desired alien hardware is bleeping me with the call and so I'll have to get my umbrella to keep the sun off and head out

So loud it brought the surge protection on the mother amp and had to click it's electric fan (that I use) up to level 3

Annoying that

Look forward to more power yet again and nothing integrated

I got mine last week. I have only listened to it once so far but I think it might be the best HW since Alien 4. The production sounds a bit more natural this time around.

I couldn't get into Hexagone or Yum Yum but the rest was solid.
