getting this on CD should requre a year's wages some day, and to me the only real solution is to have it pressed on vinyl.
Um, would the money go to the band in that case?
As I admit to my familiar tendency to exaggerate, in the first instance NO! the band had full control of this release and they got the cut they were expecting on the limited pressing at the time it went into the fan's hands ....
It would be the (just) reward for the preserver (amount depending on how well), the "parter" or "sacrificer".
I am personally of the opinion that Hawkwind could be richer had they chosen to be greener. But I myself am a "Hawkwind jewel collector", and I myself like rare items that also have a musical quality to go with. I am as monetarily poor as it gets, but it is nothing for me to buy records worth hundreds only to discard them and have to do it again. I have a Hawkwind "friend" in Norway, who needed this, and he did exactly what I would do if I needed it.
He waited for one to appear, and forked out the hundred bucks or thereabouts to get it!!!
One of the problems with CDs is that they do not appreciate well. A factor for this is because they get reissued rendering the previous issue no longer as desirable (in most Hawkwind cases anyway). Another factor is that as long as they are not scratched to death, they all play fine.
I know many will not like the way I "roll", but it is my own opinion and I fully admit it is just that!!
In the second case, YES!! of course!!!
How about something else special on CD instead that we can grab now?? (hopefully I have access myself)
anyweeee.....
