My order is in. Shame there are no extra's or a concert recording. Maybe when they don't have extra tracks to add they could compile a disc of the album with live versions to compliment the actual album. Just an idea.

Just received the esoteric newsletter with the following good news:

"The new edition of Hawkwind-- Distant Horizons will include 2 unreleased bonus tracks in Morpheus and Archaic and an alternative take of Kauai. These were taken from the studio sessions at the time but were not used on the initial release.Dave B has kindly supplied these to Atomhenge for use on this edition. At the moment track listings on Amazon etc do not show these tracks --but will do so once the update goes out to them."

At last it has been revealed that Distant Horizons will have extras, albeit only two tracks. Morpheus and Archaic, which we are told is an alternative take of Kaui. Not much but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
actually I'm quite looking forward to this one.

Nice one. An elongated version of Alchemy would have kept me happy. All the more to look forward to.

Alas, not enough water has passed under the proverbial bridge to allow me to listen to Chronicles without wanting to peel my wallpaper off!

Not just me then. I play all the albums, some more than others (obv.) but never Chronicles or Live Chronicles (except Moonglum, Needle Gun and an odd track or two).

no artist could produce as much material as Hawkwind and expect to please all fans every time. thanks to youtube and web-radio, sampling is available. Hawkwind surpasses all other artists for me, in terms exceptional work -- by far the best I have discovered so far.

I really liked this one back when I picked it up on CD back in 98. I wouldn't mind a vinyl edition :)

I was going to pass on this one, needing to conserve money, and reissues with no extras are part of my cut. However, with extra tracks it goes onto the shopping list

Haven't got it early, haven't even got it on time either. No sign of it today. Anyone else with a more spritely postman?
