As a Hawkfest Virgin last year all I can say is do it I took a 4 year old a 10 year old and a 12 year old and they had a blast. Before going I know the phrase family friendly was bandied about, but this really is. Have a look at some of the Hawfest pictures and you'll see little kids chasing bubbles, others being given rides in exchange for collecting cans for recycling. I know your wee one will be too small for this but it is to give you an idea of the "feeling"
I cant wait for this year. I am even bidding on a campervan on ebay as we speak [/list]

I agree what isleofwight says here.
Last years Hawkfest was my first too and even if I don't have any children I was surprised to see how fine all was goin'.
It looked like almost all of them joined the fest with happiness and joy with lots of things to do.
If I've had any children I would definetily bring them with me. As one said to me " this is a family festival " and sure it was.
Looking forward to go down there again, but Kris, where will it be and are the dates 24 - 26th july confirmed ( thinking about flight-tickets from Norway )

Latest News hasn't been updated for two weeks. Usually that means that there's an announcement pending... Hawkfest hopefully.

its normally for passport holders only my advice to you would be to apply for a passport on the home page otherwise you will have to apply when the announcement is made which will be a bit panicking to say the least best of luck

When I was three, my parents didn't take me to any Hawkwind shows. But they have a good excuse: it was 1960 and Hawkwind didn't exist.
Nowadays, that alibi doesn't apply

Usually you'll get the passport through their hawksite: hawkwind.com, but as I understood last year that if you don't have any passport you'll get it at the gate or entrance to the festivalsite. just make sure to bring two passport-photos. I don't know if it's possible this year, but it was for some last year if you are late booking tickets etc.
Anyway I'll advice you to send your personalia and photos to the adress you get on their webpage so you will have it in time. It took me about 1/2 year when I got mine.
About tickets I pressume there will be a new microsite for Hawkfest 2009 where the link for booking tickets will be.
Last year it was through seetickets but this year don't know.

Note: Baby food, nappies, etc, etc are pretty much non-existant there so must bring your own.

I've never been to a Hawkfest but my 11 year old daughter is hassling me to go this year if it goes ahead.
Question is... I have a HW passport but it's over a year old would I need a new one? and I presume kids don't need them?

Don't think you'll need a new one. Mine are 5 years old and there were no probs at last years Hawkfest regarding tickets.

I think you"re right Capt. I"m pretty sure they dont run out at all. I presume it would be to much of a head-ache for Kris and Margaret to re-new them. And kids dont need one, as they are your guest.
