Well, granted, yes there is that ~
though digital recording has been around since 1972 though not widely used at the time, there were some vinyl albums in the 70s that were mixed to digital and then pressed to vinyl, that came out sounding far better than their analog-mixed counterparts. It does seem counterintuitive to record, mix, and master in digital, only to then press to vinyl ~ since you can get far better sound from a CD. For my own, the physical CD is the ultimate medium ~ you can replicate (in miniature, or box scale) all of the adornments in a deluxe packaging format, because, when it comes right down to it, whether it's vinyl, CD, or tape, people have always copied music and distributed it illegally.
It's just so much easier to proliferate these days.
For me it's not just a matter of ethics ~ it's also the desire to have a permanent physical archive of the music and in the highest reproducible sound quality possible, as i am afflicted with acute hearing and find mp3 does not produce the same emotional response when listening

Next on the list is probably a remake of "The Golden Void". I'll do a basic track and then hire out a local community hall so I can do the sax bits at full volume. ;-)
