Great gig last night. It's been 26 years since they last player at Leeds Uni Refectory and it was a regular stopping point for them in the 80s. I remember them playing there 3 times one year.

Good crowd too and even a semi mosh pit at one point. A couple of songs from the new album including Into be Woods and something about a Seed in your Brain that both sounded good and the rest of the set old classics. From what I can remember the following were played. Assault and Battery ~ Golden Void, Utopia, Steppenwolf,Shot Down in the Night, Spirit of the Age, Brainbox Pollution, Silver Machine. A few more too but can't remember all of them probably due to too many pints of 6% beer in the Fenton before followed by further funnies of Nothern Monk also 6% in the venue. The support band were Glass Mountain from Bradford who were ok but probably played to the wrong crowd. Sound quality at the gig was really good - at the front anyway - despite the puny looking PA system. Dibs was on good form and Captain Brock too was dancing around and enjoying himself. Dibs tried to explain the conceptual continuity between Machine Stops and Into the Woods - probably need to hear that again t understand what he was on about. No Niall on stage and keyboard duties were undertaken by a John Bishop lookalike. It may even have been the famous Liverpool funnyman himself but didn't get a great look at him as he was standing behind Dibs for most of the show. Can't wait for the next one. Onwards.

He was playing the Gibson on the tour last spring as well, it's got a much meatier tone to it. The YouTube clips sound fantastic, it'll be nice to hear Brainbox Polution live again.

This time a review of the Leeds University gig.

http://www.thegryphon.co.uk/2017/03/22/ ... ory-16317/

I formally call out "bollocks" or at very least skewed maths on Dibs' statement that “The last time Hawkwind played here was 26 years ago”. I saw them on the Electric Teepee tour in spring/summer 1992 there, which was by my reckoning 25 years ago. Dibs should know as well, he was in the support band Krel.
