Finally, Hawkwind gets some high resolution tracks available. these are from Rhino.

Previously we only had Space Ritual, which came from the EMI remaster/ DVD and Warrior, but yoy had to rip that yourself from the DVD.

Hawkwind; X In Search Of Space; Doremi Fasol Latido; Hall Of The Mountain Grill

For those who are wondering, this is better quality than CD (16/24), more or less the same quaity as the now defunkt SACD and DVD-A.

Some artists like NIN and Neil Young prefer this formats.

Good Catch !

I had been looking at the HDtracks site, but missed these.

I have just installed the ability to play 96/24 files at home, and the few albums I have acquired so far certainly sound good.

Have you listened to these Hawkwind titles yourself, or are you just reporting their existence?

The downloads are not cheap, especially when we are talking about buying these titles for the third time around, so it would be good to know if they are a genuine sonic improvement before shelling out yet again

TBH, I have not heard them-- not the new ones from HD Tracks.

They are a bit pricey as you say. Eventually I will probably buy them.

I have bought some of these more than 3 times already too!

definitely tempting, and cheers for the link, LJ :-)
I had in mind not to rebuy titles until they are
MQA encoded ~ alas, so far only Atlantic
record label is on board, to the best of my
knowledge.

As mentioned in another thread a month or two ago (I think the "This is your captain speaking thread), they are available cheaper elsewhere, HD Tracks are really overpriced in the UK.

Try getting them from qobuz where they are a slightly more reasonable £13.64 each.

I have the Hall of the Mountain Grill release from there.

As an aside, the Sunshine Special EP is available in CD quality there. It was only previously available in MP3 format.

How does the sound quality of HOTMG compare with the CD release?
