Hey All! This is my first post on HWF and I hope someone can help me out..... The answer, I'm sure, is buried somewhere in these pages but I'm gonna ask anyway! Is there a COMPLETE version of the cut down 'Silver Machine' that closes 'Live'79'? I've wanted to know for almost 30yrs now and no-one has been able to give me categorical 'Yes' or 'No' And if a full version IS out there, could you point me in the right direction purleeze! I've bin dying to here it nearly all my bloody life!! Taa! (.......breath is bated........)

Not from the same gig but the Live Complete 79 issue has a complete SM on it. Sound quality not as good as Live 79 but worthwhile especially if you really like the 79-80 Hawkwind sound. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-79-Col ... B00002MCSR

Thanx Man! Was sorta hoping for the real deal but I'll def hunt it out! I'm beginning to resign myself to never hearing it in its entirety at all, ever!I've heard that the recorded quality of 'Complete' leaves a little to be desired - but you know how Rumour-Control is....... Anyway, Thanx again for your time, mate - Ree-Lee-Pree-Shee-8 it! Funzo!

Sadly the masters have been lost. I asked the question when Live 79 was reissued by Atomhenge. Vicky said they only had the master for the the original release not the original source tape. Complete 79 does sound a bit ropey but it is just about listenable.

I like the explosion at the end of High Rise right before British Tribal Music. That's what I thought this thread was going to be about.
I'm off!

Scuse me being blunt here, but how the blimmin' heck does someone manage to lose original masters ? Surely they realise that they are valuable items that don't get mislaid ?!!! Kinda simplistic view I spose ?!

I personally like the explosion and think a few more albums would be vastly improved if they had exploding tracks on them. In fact at work they have a tendency to listen to Radio 1 and I think my listening pleasure would be greatly enhanced if every single track exploded after thirty seconds. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it!
