This is somewhat baffling:

http://www.emusic.com/album/Hawkwind-Li ... 80093.html

http://www.emusic.com/album/Hawkwind-Li ... 80082.html

Obviously from the tracklisting it's the Knights Of Space concert but with very misleading covers. Haven't heard the clips but I'm assuming it's the same (wrong) mix.

I was going to say emusic's already got Knights Of Space but it's just been removed.

What happened to the live CD that I read somewhere was a recording from the same stuff that's on the bonus DVD on TMTYL? Wasn't that due out soon?

That's a different year, same venue. The Knights Of Space thing was 2007 I think, while the Voiceprint effort was 2005 and with Alan Davey I think. I looked on Amazon for that today and saw it was down as released but not in stock. I'm inclined to wait for someone else to buy a copy of that and say what it's like given the half arsed approach Voiceprint taken to Hawkwind output in recent years.

This seems to have appeared as a download on both Amazon and itunes, replacing Knights of Space. However, discs one and two are sold as separate albums which means it's quite pricey. If it were the mythical proper mix I'd consider getting it, but it sounds like the same thing to me - the sound samples have Dave and Tim's contributions safely submerged under a thick woollen blanket.

Is the original KoS now deleted, then?

Splitting a dubious-quality live album into two, and rebranding the resulting halves doesn't fill me with entheusiasm, I'm sorry to say. It's getting towards "Yuri Gagarin" territory...
