Just had mine delivered Sat from Amazon. Some great stuff but very disappointed with the Brainstorm Live 80 unreleased track. It comes in and starts just after the Drum solo has finished, and features only the end of the song. I have this track on several bootlegs and the track should be a full 13 minutes long. The french release which was supposed to happen last year of the Live 80 tour has the full 13 minute Brainstorm including the full drum solo so why have Cherry Red left it out on this. It seems a waste of time putting it on the cd if is not the full track the drum solo is excellent and i just can't understand why they have done this.

I feel that it is a great release. the overall package is second to none and the clarity of the main album is superb. As for there being nothing new....it is called a re release. The clue is in the title.

Im pretty sure it mentions in the notes about Brainstorm. It cuts out on the master tapes and for purposes of quality control sometimes live tracks havent recorded particularly well so are left off. We can only go from the masters we have as part of our arrangement.
With regards to "new" ---this is a band who have prolifically released live material over the years and who have also been bootlegged prolifically--live and not live, so there are limits to what is going to be "new" and is in our possession

i'm not having a go.the quality of the cd is brill and the packaging very good.it's just that having been spoilt by qsc, hawklords and pxr5 i would have hoped for some of the alternative recordings of the original lp,but as esoteric has just said if they don't have them we can't hear them

Having listened to all 3 discs now I have to say I'm really very impressed. Atomhenge have put most other labels' reissue programmes to shame. Generally I baulk at having to buy successive 'ultimate collectors remastered etc' editions of things I already have, but these HW ones are absolutely top notch I was most suprised to find the Hawklords version of Whos gonna win the war on disc one to be different to the original Flicknife 7" version I have. Was this intentional or are there two different versions ? To me it sounds more similar to the versions I have from the 1979/early 1980s tour(s). Anyone any ideas ? just curious

It was not my favourite of the time but I have to say the re-release is superb, Discs 2 and 3 are excellent and have little of filler or curiosity value. The remaster of the original album is quality as well. It's probably the best package of all the recent re-releases.

Another stunning release from Atomhenge - well done to all.
I think some of us are getting a bit spoilt though, lets be happy getting a high quality remaster of the oriinal album and anything else is a bonus. To my ears, the remastering has brought back a lot of bottom end. You can hear Harvey "the worst bass player in the world" a lot better and all the more better for it. Maybe Ginger has had a hand in the CD released versions to date!
This is a five star release as have all the others to date. I think Atomhenge are doing an absolutely amazing job, im glad its them and not Voiceprint.
I must say i thought Disc 2 and 3 were stunning. Such great mastering of a live show well done!!!! Can Atomhenge release a remixed Yule Ritual!
Liverpool 1980 must have been recorded as well as we did have Master of the Universe from that show on "A Quiet Night In" and wasnt the flicknife "Motorway City" Live 1980 from that Liverpool show to?
Its hard to tell how many of these might have made it to "Do Not Panic" or "Zones" to my ears which is likely have had dubbed/alt mixed versions anyway. I havnt played those two albums for a while and the CDs are not in the same league as this prestine recording.
And where did Brainstorm originate from? the same Lewisham show? I also would have liked a full version of the show but the reason it was not is explained above. I think we have good a very strong reprsentation though of a 1980 show.
I will add that we need to encourage Atomhenge and not find minor fault. There will be reasons why they aren't able to release a full show or a particular track. I thought when I first heard of this release we might get a Simon King track from Levitation just to see the difference Ginger brought or a studio version of Shot Down or another swindles song that i would have thought might have been recorded at the last Hawklords session. But alas no.
Once more..stunning Atomhenge. We want more!!!!

I've been waiting to read all of yor comments on this disc before ordering a copy. I am a 36 year fan as are most other forum members and we do all share a lot of common views. It's a pain ordering this material from Canada and ask your honest opinions.... Is this disc set a must have the likes of say Greasy Truckers Party for instance?? Will I be missing out on something by not obtaining a copy?? Only true Hawkfans will understand my meaning. Thankyou Mike.

I'm still waiting... but I read that there's some strike going on among the Royal Mail staff, so that might be an explanation.
