Hi everyone,

I have only just had time to read all of your messages to Huw and me on here and on my space. Apologies for not responding sooner. You really are a lovely bunch of people. All your messages are heart warming. THANK YOU FROM BOTH OF US. The captions suggested for pic of Dave and Huw are hilarous and have kept me giggling for ages this morning.

Thanks to the lovely Kris who is keeping you posted on Huw's health (Gareth too who has been a brilliant friend to Huw at the Hospital). Huw is slowly healing and looks a little better day by day. Thanks again for all the positive energy, thoughts & love sent to him. And for the flowers, books & great cards received at the hospital. If I could give you all a hug I would - so would Huw!

With love to you all, Marion & Huw.

Thanks for the lovely post Marion...hugs are massively underated things, at least a couple a day are good for everyone. Great news Huw is improving, and many and best continued wishes to yourselves and your family.

I must be one of the few people who have ever had a kind of, what seemed like a private gig by Huw, at The Cunningham pub in New Addington back in the late 80s or early 90s, there were only a few of us there to see Huw, i saw Huw in the bar before hand, but was 'too shy' to say anything, Huw was my hero, and i didn't want to come across as the star-struck fan, so left it, knowing now what a gent Huw is, i wish i'd been a bit braver back then
I hoped that Huw would play Moonglum, and i wasn't disappointed, first song in? yep... Moonglum, brilliant, thanks Huw, you made my night :)

He came down to my local music pub in the '80s but, for reasons long forgotten, his band didn't turn up. Rather than cancel Huw pulled up a stool in the bar, csalled us round and played solo to us. What a nice thing to do, eh?

I had a similar experience at The Shelley Arms in Nutley (Sussex) back in the early 90's I guess. Although we did get a full LLG gig, it was a small pub and not that busy. We got Moonglum too (my favourite Huw HW song; why was that not on CotBS?!?), along with other greats like Rocky Paths, Dreaming City etc.

I was very sad to read Huw was ill, but am glad he's seemingly out of the woods for now. Huw was always my hero when I first got into HW; he looked the coolest and played lead guitar (plus, I wanted his haircut, haha!).

I hope you get well soon Huw, and you're up, about and playing again soon :)

Moonglum is a class track for sure, actually, if you look at Live Chronicles, Huw wrote some of the best tracks on that !

Welcome back Huw, glad you've got out of the hospital..just imagine: Home cooking, ..how good does that sound!!!!

i too have had the honour of 2!!!! 'private gigs' after a fashion.
the first was when huw sat with me outside my van at Hawkfest (Dave and Kris' wedding one)
the second was after the space rock spectacular gig when Huw and Harvey both autographed my guitar and some photos and Huw and i swapped sweatbands!!!

great to hear he is 'on the mend'

Hello Folks......

More great news! Huw has been allowed home from hospital. His kidneys are stable, he is very weak, but happy to be back. He needs lots of rest and feeding up.........Marion will be making sure that this is what he gets :D

Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, cards and presents......they all had such a positive effect on Huw that they most certainly helped towards his recovery 8)

More updates when we get them..

Kris x
