3,000 lbs ????
When being pursued by Kookbot, remain on slippery slopes and/or soft, swampy ground.
I can't see much practical use of the robot for a military sentry either.
All the NK soldiers need is insulated bolt cutters to shut the unit down and steal it for copying.
I admit It's ground breaking technology but still requires a human operator on board.

for now.

I fear this is just the beginning.

I suppose it is fitting that the beginning of humankind's extinction should see the walking-permanent-dead driving their dystopian nightmare-machine into the black, gaping jaws of annihilation.

And all along, the potential had been there, for those whose days are now numbered in the present.

I find I cannot cry for them.

I want to ~ but feel only profound and sober, dry-eyed pity.....

....and a sense of relief that I walk not in their steps.

A prime example of dumb...

For around 300 years, the Tree of Ténéré was fabled to be the most isolated tree on the planet. The acacia was the only tree for 250 miles in Niger’s Sahara desert, and was used as a landmark by travelers and caravans passing through the hostile terrain. The tree sprouted when the desert was a slightly more hospitable place, and for years was the sole testament to a once-greener Sahara.

In the 1930s, the tree was featured on official maps for European military campaigners, and a French ethnologist Henri Lhote called it, ”an Acacia with a degenerative trunk, sick or ill in aspect.” But he noted, as well, that “nevertheless, the tree has nice green leaves, and some yellow flowers.” The hardy tree, a nearby well showed, had reached its roots more than 100 feet underground to drink from the water table.

But then, in 1973, the centuries-old survivor met its match. A guy ran the tree over with his truck. The Libyan driver was following a roadway that traced the old caravan route, collided with the tree, snapping its trunk. The driver’s name never surfaced, but rumors abound that he was drunk at the moment that he plowed into the only obstacle for miles—the tree.

stated another way :

The co-opting of symbols for socio-political representations and the subsequent connotations which people involved in persistent social interaction demand, is, in effect,
a system for organised prejudice.

coincidentally the banning of symbols and imagery is inherently an ineffective means of preventing or curtailing the dissemination of the ideas those symbols are perceived to represent.  On the contrary.

"Ban lorries from using car sat-navs, say councils"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38775559

"Lorry drivers should be banned from using sat-navs specifically designed for cars, council chiefs have said.

The Local Government Association (LGA) wants legislation brought in to make sure lorry drivers in England and Wales use a GPS system suitable for HGVs.

It wants councils to have the power to ensure drivers avoid routes where they exceed the weight or height limit.

On Monday, a lorry crashed into a bridge near Birmingham, ripping the roof of its trailer off.

Calls to change navigation systems come after a number of lorries have got stuck in narrow roads or under low bridges.

In September last year a lorry was driven over a bridge in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, causing it to be closed for several months. It was more than 10 times over the bridge's weight limit.

Network Rail is asking drivers of high vehicles to heed "low bridge" warning signs after the same bridge in Hinckley, Leicestershire, was hit 11 times in 12 months."

Whilst I applaud Southern Rail for their attempts to keep trains running durring the recent dispute, this was a silly idea.
