The music sounds quite interesting, I will admit, but I am sure how memorable it is.

It is a typical Cleopatra effort. Bringing together some well know or cult musicians and making an album.

I would part with that money for a book like that, I do not mind reading his views (whatever I might think) but I don't want to pay through the nose for the pleasure.

Hey Lost johnny

These comments of mine are removed from the artist and have to do with simple facts-
Could part of the cost be the reproduction of the Sonic Attack 45 in the cloth bag and how much does a hardback book normally cost after being exported from the USA??

A friend of mine noted it was a bit "odd" that this sales link is a seller in Devon.
Just not the place we would expect pre-orders being taken for this but then people live everywhere.

These questions are because I do not know.

Was there any consent given for the Sonic Attack repop?
(or is Nik claiming to have written the lyrics for M.M.?)
The tarot cards were originally created by Barney Bubbles.
The Hawkwind Log was a Robert Calvert/Barney Bubbles combined effort.

With all love and respect to Robert Newton Calvert and Colin Fulcher intended.

Artist - Hawkwind
Title - The Spirit Of Hawkwind 1969-1976
Format - Deluxe edition UK hardback book containing 300 pages featuring many rare and never-before-seen photos
as well as a comprehensive discography, gigography, and Nik’s 1975 US tour diary,
a reproduction of the 1971 “Galactic Tarot” card deck, designed by celebrated graphic designer and long-time
Hawkwind collaborator Barney Bubbles,
reproduction of the 1972 “Sonic Attack” 7” promo one-sided single in a cloth bag, reproduction of the 1971
“In Search Of Space” 6” x 9” 20-page promotional booklet
and a postcard featuring the poster artwork of the 1974 Kansas City show with Rush

That's the product description L.J.
It does make you wonder who owns the rights to all of these items.
I have a very strong hunch who doesn't.
For that reason I'll stay clear.

Just taking a guess, i would GUESS that making it a pre-order in the UK first is just one more little way by someone to "be annoying" (to Hawkwind)

ONLY a guess, and not accusing anyone.

My intentions were not to comment at all in this thread and I do hope there will be some understanding and forgiveness if any is needed.

This kind of stuff has it's way of attracting attention.

It's very difficult

It does not sound worth the money, just lots of bits and pieces, cashing in on the hope collectors will buy anything.

I suppose they think that suing in the US is too expensive. Whatever, it is a poor way for a 'peace loving hippy' to end a career.

I doubt the record in the bag itself accounts for any of the extra shipping cost, as it's only a 7" and comes tucked inside the book's cover.

What accounts for the extra shipping cost is the way they package it to ensure absolutely no damage:

It's a large book about 12" x 9" and an inch thick on heavy gloss paper(300+ pages); thoroughly swaddled in bubble wrap and then in a white cardboard box. That white "product" box is then shipped in the outer brown cardboard "shipping" box about the size of an album, 12"x12" at least (maybe a tad bigger) and about 3.5-4" thick.

Just to be clear about myself:
My reference to the single had nothing to do with shipping costs, only manufacturing.

Didn't think of that, just thought it sounded expensive to export, weight-wise.

edit: am I allowed to be nosey and ask what colour vinyl you chose Lord o.t. Hornets?

Does that mean 6 people get nothing?
