A friend just sent me a link to this a few minutes ago. Given that I've had 3 of these, (still have 1), and keep an eye on them when I am shown or bump into them, I'd say the current PEAK value of a MINT copy would be about $2000.00 USA. Of course, with the release of the CD, that may take it down, I am not sure. But I thought the price on this was 3000 POUNDS, which is indeed overpriced. I once had a friend in Wisconsin that had a MINT copy offered to him for 70 dollars (USA), and he passed on it because it was too expensive. I tried to pursue it but it had gone....

I can think other things i'd rather buy for 3K. Quality footage of a full Space Ritual gig with full rights for distribution could swing it, but not this.

I've always thought Hawkind fans enjoyd the benefit of the items being _just under_ the mainstream radar. Meaning items availble CHEAP by comparison to some. While the proper CD release certainly deflated some of the thrill here, I have always seen this performance as solitary in it's showcase of the audio generators. I can think of precious little by way of material possesions that could outdo this (for me, I'm a kollektor), I see it as THE ULTIMATE psychedelic rock rarity. I was reminded today in a phone conversation about the Beatles "Butcher Cover" and what some of those can fetch......It occured to me that there is really only 2 social classes of human beings on the earth. Those with this LP, and the rest....: ) Too bad this guy is a rip off, it could have been another "one man isolator" and another club-member!!!!

Yes if any one has such a video, let me know, as I would pay more than 3K for it, with distribution rights of-course. I hear DB has a Coke habit, or so Alan says:).... and thus would need the money, etc....

There's no cause for "alarm". I am certain that if Dave ever actually indulged there is no pipe involved.

this whole thing is actually a hilarious spinning in the telling. It comes from Dave's enjoyment of a cup of cocoa at bedtime, and anyone that cares to question may refer to Dave's retention of ALL HIS original teeth.
The only thing left in question is which one of them drinks more of it

I remember a BBC cocoa reference when the Silver Machine TOTP video was re-shown in the 1980s... on a Top of the Pops retro, on BBC 2. At the end of the vid, the presenter was going on about how they were heading off to bed with a nice cup of cocoa, or something like that.

So, doubtless this is where the confusion has arisen :D

The BBC disc didn't get sold on Ebay. It had zero bids, as expected. I asked the seller if he could sell me just the cue sheets, and he replied he wouldn't as he put the record on auction just to raise some eye to his site...

That jerk jerk jerk. So he KNEW it was rip, and was trying to see if somebody would go for it. I am a little surprised at my memory loss, but what I went through was so traumatic to me that I guess that is part of it. I don't recall any of mine being without ANY sheets, seems like there were copies on the one of them?? but I really just can't remember. Out mutual german collector frirnd still tries to get the one I have about once a year and I keep telling him no thanks. Also, he got the sheet for the ONE test-pressing I refuse to sell, which was stored in a press-kit he got hold of, and I could not talk him out of it no matter how hard I tried. so I am stuck with a copy!!!
do you have copies??

Oh yeah, my eyes went right to that, and I sooo wish I could have or would have sent him a pic of the CD and said "you're too late", and "I bet you REALLY wish you would have sold this a couple years ago?"
the BBC sellers can be such total hams it's rediculous......at least this guy didn't have the CRAZY FONT ....
I just want sellers to stop speaking about vinyl '"lustre" and "sheen" and I REALLY would appreciate all the A1 matrix crap to terminate when that is actually saying "I am the common as weeds version" on much of the items I am looking at, anyway
