Hawkwind are due to appear at Matter, a club inside the O2 arena complex as part of of an evening to celebrate the launch of Amorphous Androgynous's new album, the show is billed as - A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind launch party
More news if and when we got it but please note this is not a full Hawkwind show.
However press attention around this gig will be massive as it looks like it will be Noel Gallacher's first appearance on stage since his very public split from the rest of Oasis at the weekend

yeah i noticed that as well, not sure exactly how this will pan out, from what little info i have i was lead to believe it would be a fairly conventional gig with an aftershow, so not sure if the 23.00 signifies the start of the live action or said aftershow.
trouble is i'm a bit of an old fogey these days so by 23.00 i would expect to be thinking about my journey home from a gig rather than the start of proceedings, but then i look at the hours my daughter keeps and anything's possible!
regards
dave

I did hear at Porchester rumours of Noel playing onstage with Hawkwind - not sure if this referred to him playing on the same stage at a different time or whether there was a chance he'd actually be playing with them ?!!!!!

Not sure I concur on that one Wingnut, I quite like the earlier Oasis stuff ! Would be interesting to hear imho ........ wasn't Graham Coxon of Blur meant to have been down to play with HW at the Albert Hall a few years ago but didn't in the end ? If Noel DID play with HW then it would only help to lift the band to greater notoriety and kudos to a whole new audience - which can be no bad thing ..........

well rumours are just that, unless confirmation of anything appears on the official site, myspace or is posted on the forum by myself or Hawkwind then take it with a large pinch of salt.
speaking as a fan, so this is my own thoughts and not a statement, i'm past all this "lets get all the old members back together" Hawkestra proved it dosen't work so isn't it best to let sleeping dogs lie.
Folks should take it as a huge compliment if a Noel Gallacher or Graham Coxon type figure wanted to get up and play with the band or mentioned them as an influence, whether you like them or there music they are huge figures and have played a big part in shaping the sounds that young people listen to today so if they were to give Hawkwind a nod in some shape or form then we should be pleased.
this is a comment lifted directly from Oasis's official myspace page regarding the gig in question -
Classic 70s space-rock pioneers Hawkwind are also set to perform so it's sure to be a very special gig!
just take it for what it is a compliment, at least it's not the spice girls or boyzone
regards
dave

yes,i think its the end of most fans requests/hopes for the space ritual ex hawks to turn up at shows.
but i enjoyed huw and captain rizz and matthew wright on the saturday.
i would like to see noel gallagher play with hawkwind,he sure knows his stuff and is a big champion of unknown bands here in liverpool and is known to turn up at numerous gigs giving his support.
ive seen and spoke to him a couple of times, hes a good man(for a manc!)i will have to mention hawkwind to him if i see him again!
