Just posted the following to myspace, and will be updating web site shortly, please read if you are thinknig of coming to this gig -

The eagle eyed amongst you will habve noticed that the date of the Matter @ O2 gig has been put back to the 30th October.

We have literally been informed of this within the last hour so wanted to let fans know as soon as possible.

Our understanding is that the 30th October is now the preferred date for the show but is not 100% cast in stone as this announcement is being written, as soon as we have a definate date this forum entry will be updated to reflect this,

Apologies for this but please be aware that this is outside the control of Hawkwind as the band are appearing on someone else's bill and as such have no influence over their decision to move the date back.

Thanks for reading

regards

dave

Indeed, unusual angles, but good I thought.

I'm just discovering Amorphous Androgenous. Can anyone tell me what FSOL stands for and why the two apparent names.

It stands for Future Sound Of London and the two names are because the music syles are different. FSOL are more dance, I think they start of as quite ambient, like The Orb then branched out a bit. I think they were one of the first bands to play live over the internet in its formative years. Whereas Amorphous Androgenous are more space/psychedelic rock.

Have not heard anything I can recall from either but both bands seem to generate high prise from the music press and fans alike; I know Classic Rock gave AA top praise in a recent interview.

Thanks for that Pedal Bin. What I have heard so far has been good. I did have to adjust myself to the sitar but the music is great in places and the rest is growing on me.

The FSOL came up when i put it onto my IPod but the album shows AA.
Hence why the question

A family tree would probably resemble something out of the deepest darkest fens of Lincolnshire... It is mostly just the two of them though.

Their back catalogue is as confusing as Hawkwind's though because of all the different names.

It starts out with Zeebox and then becomes Humanoid which were both just Brian Dougans.

After that it's mostly all at once; I think they just couldn't decide what to call themselves until they hit success with Papua New Guinea as FSOL.

EMS:Piano, Heads Of Agreement, Six Oscillators In Remittance, Part-Sub-Merged and Polemical are more recent electriconic experiments, possibly mostly Brian's work.

Technically they should probably call themselves the Future Sound Of Somerset these days as their studio is there in an old church on several ley lines.

I'd like to see them produce Hawkwind to be honest, they did a fantastic job with remixing Oasis' Falling Down. Easy on the sitars though...

It sounds like insecurity to me.

Mind you, his/thier stusio in the church on ley lines sounds interesting. The Christians did build a lot of churchs on old pagan sites and sites of importance to dominate them. Nice to know it's being put to some good use at last.
