The only place that produces the original and best Whitby kippers. Nothing short of fabulous. And less than an hour from my house.

Apparently the method of production doesn't meet Eu rules but they have a special dispensation that allows them to sell from their Whitby premises only.

I'm intrigued to see how the whole 'Brexit' thing is represented once the consequences (whatever they may be) unfold. It could be 20 years or more before there is any blantantly obvious evidence whether it was a Good Thing or a Bad Thing ... or even an Indifferent Thing where nothing much has changed.

So much of the perception of the referendum was defined by the whole Facebook/Twitter/a.n.other.trendyplace.net strangeness and, by the time it all pans out, that may be seen as just a weird social blip played out on defunct internet media sites.

The whole episode weirded me out (and I don't even do the social media thing) - when everybody else appears to have gone mad it's traditionally the case that you should probably think about your own mental health. But I'm pretty sure I'm still sane. I'm just in a dwindling minority.

the spineless irish government are now using brexit as an excuse to not deliver on their up-coming budget promises as regards things like tax cuts and so on - surprise surprise - our 'fiscal space' isn't where it should be apparently - meanwhile, people are still sleeping rough, austerity remains and more transport strikes are pending - sorry - rant over!
