black adder wrote:Interesting thing I found out. Liberty reissue of first album from 1984 is mastered at The Penthouse which is part of Abey Road where Orange reissue was mastered. That probobly means that they could have analogue source there. But did they use it on orange release or not we will find out if I get reply on email. But all this (abey conection and this engineer) is proof that orange vinyl is not bad sound at all like Mike reported from Pierre. Only now is the personal taste, analogue source or not. Orange is remastered for this release so, dont know....

man this Croatian is pretty good.....

Anyway BlackAdder, meant to tell you my past with records is exactly like yours only my "rebirth" began in 90's and as result of "sugar daddy" and Hawkwind

Just got reply from Frank Arkwright. He said that Orange reissue was source from digital masters. He said that he got source from digital masters to create vinyl master. So it was not full-on remaster thing like he did for Blur, The Smiths etc....

That was his reply. Well, we suspected that was digital because if it analogue there is always some sticker on it to say that. So, now we know.

Im on work actualy, night shift. Bored little bit :)

I got Hawkwind RSD 2017, its not bad evven it is digital source. I ordered reissue on sunset from 1975, so I will compare. If I lke sunset release (which willl probably be) I will sell RSD release. I am thinkin on buying 'repeated performance' and Hawklords 25 Years On. First releases of course. By the way, I was just watching hawkwind documentary from bbc, on 21:18min guy who is holding two pictures on one seems like it say 'yugoslavia', you can see 'yugos..' and I was like ????
And Dave was not on this, we know why. Here is link to check out:

There are several label variants, but I had a really rare sleeve variant that I think Brian tawn told me was some kind of record club edition
It just had record adverts on the reverse instead of the same picture front and back which is this

as for the digital transfers, I had concluded that was not a big problem in my case

O yes Mike I know about that release single. Its not extremely rare here, ok maybe is rare in NM/M condition. I think saw it for 15$ somewhere. But I never saw this what you talking about, with commercials on back sleeve.

in fact I have since recalled us discussing it.
Funny you mention condition, I could never get one minty enough to really be happy about.
Except the weird one I had just for the novelty which was the first I got
The back sleeve might have just be green and blue words whatever it was advertising,it had been so long now, but it must have been record ads, just like the LPs would do
