Sometimes I won't listen to an album for ages and then listen to it and onder why the hell I haven't listened to it for ages.

I have just done this with Electric Teepee a truly excellent album.

I'd say so, SteamAbacus!
:-)

Pete ~ you've just hit the nail on the head as regards my music listening as well...
...especially Hawkwind lps !

Electric Teepee has a special place in my stereo-rotation ~
partly because the Mothership was then manned by a "skeleton crew" of three, which rarefies the music in an interesting way, and partly because they were embarking on a trajectory!

did I read at the time Richard was using 'double skins' on the drums for that heavy sound - or did he mention it in Dublin '94?! - memory probably playing tricks I guess! - gotta confide in me 'secret agent' - great album

Electric Teepee is one of my favourites too. Had it on numbered gatefold vinyl, then picture CD then Remastered CD.

Until The Machine Stops came out I would have said that was their last great album.

Death Of War
The Secret Agent
Snake Dance
Right To Decide
Going To Hawaii
Are my favorites from E.T.
I witnessed the trio playing live and they could've easily passed for a 5 piece band.
The whole crowd danced for hours into a sweating, frothing, seething frenzy.
It was an experience, a happening, never to be duplicated.
Nobody else could.

Great album and fondly remembered gig even though a mate of mine went totally ott with the drink and drugs. I'm still hypnotized by the running stick man light show to this day!

Definitely one of the best HW albums for me. The drum sound is, well, of its time... but it's a minor criticism of what is an amazing album. Nice in gatefold LP!

I've got very fond memories of that album too, haven't heard it in years mind. I associate it with being at art college. The album had a certain vivid shimmer when chemically enhanced, the descending riff with the heavy drumming used to make us giggle, and I remember being very surprised at the various monsters and things that come out of the background during LSD for example.

The tour was great fun as well. The gauze in front of the stage with the extra projections was quite something, everyone seemed to be dressed in white so the projections were on them. The running men, Richard's whole drum kit seemed to wobble when he gave it some welly during the Secret Agent.

I saw them at Leeds Uni and was surprised by the strange blend of people in the crowd. The first and only time I ever saw loads of people wearing Happy Mondays t-shirts watching as avidly as the Bikers who were glaring at them from the back.
