Any one else on here read comics. I used to read loads back when I had more disposable income. Had to sell the lot sadly but slowly trying to get some back now. Started off buying back 'Moonshadow' wonderfully drawn and written. Once of those books where you just spend ages looking at the artwork. Also aiming to get back:

The Watchmen
Sandman
Death
The Dark Knight Returns
Batman - Year One
V For Vendetta
Hard Boiled
Hellblazer (up to about issue 70 I think it went before it went down hill)
Miracle Man (this may proved very difficult and expensive)

All top stuff. Anyone else gor anything to recommend?

I'm strictly stuck in the past when it comes to comics, the Marvel Silver Age and DC creepy comics. I mean have you seen what they've done to Thor?! He looks like some glammed up 80's pomp rock poseur.

Yes PB, read most of those. Would also highly recommend Slaine, ABC Warriors and Judgement on Gotham, all with art by Simon Bisley, who's draughtmanship is truely inspired.

Arkham Asylum and Hooligan's Haircut are also well worth picking up.

I remember Slaine and ABC Warriors from 2000AD, that used to have peaks and lows with its stories. Did Bisley ever do Judge Dread or Strontium Dog?

I had a Bisley drawing on my denim cut off many years ago. A demon from Slaine (I think) my mate copied for me. A big demon on a horse with a sword that said "I Slaughter. Dial 666 After Midnight". Looked great, Lemmy liked it too when I got him to sign it.

Just been looking at the price of Micraleman on Ebay - £249 for issue 15! (I had that too!)

Judgement on Gotham was a combined Judge Dread and Batman story... so kind of. Don't think he ever did Strontium Dog.

I remember that. I think it was from ABC Warriors.

Nemesis was good too. I haven't bought 2000AD, or whatever it is called now for years.

Love The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Still have one issue hanging about that I stumbled upon a few months ago. Used to read The Beano when I was a kid. Other than that, I'm strictly a Viz kinda gal :D

Had all the Freak Bros comic too (sob!).

Plenty of 2000AD.

Ooh Marshal Law, I've just remembered that was good too, oh and Sin City.

Haven't read Viz in years. Had some of the early copies too (about issue 17/18?).

What was the name of that comic that had the "Driver" story in it?
Was it "Toxic" ?
I always remember two lines "Bless me father for I am sin"
The other was rude

LOL....

Used to read loads of comics in the late seventies / early eighties...2000AD, Starlord, Tornado, Commando, Battle, Warlord, Victor, Starblazer etc etc etc, Got rid of most of them in 1985 but have recently built up a pretty good collection of graphic novels including:

Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, Rogue Trooper, Nemesis, Ro-Busters, ABC Warriors, Slaine, Elric, Charley's War, Conan, Commando, Battle Picture Library, War Picture Library, Battler Britton, Enemy Ace, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Asterix, Battle etc

Am waiting on the first Johnny Red coming out.
