In the liner notes to the Atomhenge release of The Business Trip it is stated that the album was recorded at Thames Valley University in November 1993. I had read elsewhere that it was recorded at the Pier Pavilion in Hastings on November 27, 1993.

I am unable to find a mention of a gig at Thames Valley University anywhere, can anyone confirm that this is where the show was recorded? If so, would you also know the exact date?

It was also interesting to read that Dave Brock emphatically states that aside from a few overdubs (a not altogether uncommon practice) that the entire album is a live recording, including Terra Mystica and Quark, Strangeness and Charm. I guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet can you?

I believe the gig the on the 26th Nov at Slough College was the TVU gig. It was the TVU's Slough Campus for many years before it closed last year and the rest became the University Of West London.

re the pianno intro on quark...at liverpool it sounded to me as on the live album but at whitchurch the intro was performed by alan who played all the right notes but not in the right order so who knows....

I think most Hawkwind live albums have had a lot of overdubs, they've always done it, new vocals, vocals where none existed before going back to Space Ritual/Silver Machine. This one while I enjoyed seemed to have been touched up rather more than others.
