Just ordered....

I have all of the live Robert Calvert recordings. The recent release of "Live at the Stars and Stripes" is the best. It also contains rare demo recordings.

The others live recordings which this thread is about are:

"Ship of Fools"
"Ejection"
"Radio Egypt"
"The Right Stuff"
"In Vitro Breed"

The quality varies from listenable to downright awful BUT you have to remember that Bob is no longer with us so these recordings are all that's left to us, unless other stuff sees the light. In that respect they're worth it, but really for the collector only.

Hiya, Your question is answered in this thread:
bob-calvert-posthumous-live-cds-86-88-t1551.html

And in the reviews on our site:
http://www.doremi.co.uk/krankschaft/cd_reviews.html

Further more if you don't think our offering is better value at half the price and twice the quality I'll happily refund your money! :o)

-Really trying quite hard to provide a quality product since 1979..

There is a Stars and Stripes CD on ebay which has a different cover and track listing to the one on Voiceprint website, both state that they are 2009 releases, any ideas why ?

The concert, or most of it, has been available has been available online for many years absolutely gratis!

http://www.doremi.co.uk/icu/calvert.html

Steve and Fred of Krankshaft (Maximum Effect) posted that there. This year they produced a new a new CD version, which is remastered and has more tracks on it. I own both that and the Voiceprint one. Steve and Fred's version has better sound quality and has "Ode to the Sun" on it too..

I'd say don't buy the expensive Voiceprint version. The demos are not rare they are from the "Cellar Tapes", available elsewhere for years. This one is better and and cheaper:

Krankshaft may have something to say about that...:)

Just been searching Youtube for Calvert related videos and came across High rise from the Robert Calvert Memorial Concert 2008 and what an emotional version this is especially Nik Turners Sax lead, it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
If you haven't heard it here is the link
