If anyone was wondering why the mighty Krankshaft has cancelled all their summer gigs, just read on their f/b page Steve Pond (K/S , I.C.U, Maximum Effect etc etc) was diagnosed with cancer back in March. On the mend apparently, but still.....
All the best Steve. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks for posting, Greenfly.
Not on f/b so I'm out of the loop.

Best wishes for Steve for a full recovery and lasting health.

Thanks everyone it's been a shitty year so far, 32 days in hospital left me 3 stone lighter and quite close to the exit, but the NHS stepped up it's game and fixed me.

I've been home a month or so now.. granted I've got a massive open wound on my belly but let's not dwell on the details :) the cancer was all chopped out and the histology report shows they got it all, so all I have to do now is get fit again. In the meantime here's a gift from me to you, Robert Calvert with Inner City Unit in 1985.. whole gig :)

Best wishes Steve, from a fellow sufferer. You've had it much worse than me, by the sounds of it - I'm glad to hear you're on the right side of things now. (I haven't said anything about this on here, so just a quick note to say I seem to be making a good recovery, too.)

I've found that experience where you look death in the face is a good one - especially when death blinks first and turns away, of course. I felt after that experience I had a different perspective because I'd been tested and I know how I am when everything turns round and all the perspectives change.

Thank god for the brilliant people who treat cancer and save so many lives. We have so much to be grateful for.

Sounds like a very one legged version of Acid Rain to me :)

Fred & I did it better justice on the Flame Red Superstar...

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Steve. Get your strength up and keep well! Cancer is a real cancer...

Looking forward to the new album - any idea of release date?

I too would like to wish you well for your future quest sir.
Many of us/are near reaching the end of our journeys here.
I have just been listening to some of your work from the 80's & it sure has time travelled exceptionally well. Thankyou so much.

I am too, it's done, just needs mastering and the sleeve finishing, but we're out of action as a band until November so i wouldn't expect it much before then.. it'll be worth the wait, promise :)

I believe "our journey " neither begins nor ends here.

As I see it, the journey, in of itself, neither begins nor ends.

Lucky for us all we get to travel amongst one another here, and may be enriched spiritually by one another's precious company.

May we always recognise this journey for what it truly is, and worship and love the force and spirit of Creation !
