I'd be inclined to go with the original Space Ritual, closely followed by the Greasy Truckers performance. A very short hop behind it, would be the 1980 Lewisham gig, the not entirely 100% legit 1978 Bottom Line show, and (should they ever do such a release) a live album from the 2010 Blood of the Earth Tour. Honourable mention goes to Nottingham 1990 or possibly the Palace Springs rerelease (which is doubly cheating in that it includes studio tracks, and also the California Brainstorm performance).

Would be inclined to vote for SR live at Shepherds Bush if it ever comes out. Porchester Hall would have been a close second.

Thanks Moonglum - I'd been trying to avoid that particular pit of depression that is the promised but to date unreleased live offerings from Porchester and Shepherds Bush ........

I'm quite fond of the Cantebury Fayre one though I've not heard it in a while. I thought Keith really added to the overall sound, so was a bit disappointed when his stay in the lineup didn't really go beyond this release. My one disappointment with the release is that Huw is a bit too low in the mix, compared to say the Lewisham 1980 recording or the Live Chronicles release.

Okay, there's a second misgiving - Arthur Brown obviously winging it with made up lyrics. The period with him in the band would have been so much better if he'd have actually learnt the words...

Vik, have you got the Nottingham Live 1990 double CD? It's got Bridget doing 7th Star, one of my favourite's from the whole BW/Simon house era.
