How about a pat on the back for Councillor George Cameron?

His appendix to the licence application .... http://www.iwight.com/council/committees/Licensing%20(Determinations)%20Sub%20Committee/28-4-10/Paper%20D%20-%20Appendix%20E.pdf

What they said about us (publicly).... http://ventnorblog.com/2010/04/28/hawkfest-hawkwind-gig-gets-license/

* Edit *

Oh, just noticed - some evidence of M. Tait's hard work behind the scenes.... http://www.iwight.com/council/committees/Licensing%20(Determinations)%20Sub%20Committee/28-4-10/Paper%20D%20-%20Appendix%20C.pdf

And some of the objections..... http://www.iwight.com/council/committees/Licensing%20(Determinations)%20Sub%20Committee/28-4-10/Paper%20D%20-%20Appendix%20D.pdf

Amazing....there are so many burning issues on the Island at the moment and this is what the Nimbys choose to object to. I wonder if the person who mention the wildlife objected when the landowners ripped up the hedgerows on nearby farms. At least George Cameron saw good sense...not often I agree with the Tories but it was a good letter. I shall thank him when I next see him in County Hall.

Dunno about a pat on the back, think that councillor deserves at least a tour T shirt. Wonder what we may find in his music collection? :-)

God bless them! Quite honestly, if I though there would have been 10,000 people, then I wouldn't have wanted to go and it wouldn't have been a Hawkfest!

I am still having withdrawal symptoms and will be heading to Gong at the weekend (a form of methadone to my Hawkwind addiction). Have also printed out the winter tour and planning my work around it - have to go for my personal record (7 nights).

Very interesting reading and I would like to hear the "objectors" views after the event had taken place.

Yes - looking forward to it. Thinking of wearing a HW T-Shirt to wind up the Space Rituals boys.

If I lived on the island George Cameron would get my vote, not just for supporting Hawkfest but in the concise reasonable way that he did it.

I'll be at Gong on Saturday too by the way, looks like a bit of a post Hawkfest event.

Thanks Jimski! Very interesting stuff. It would be good to see the reaction now the event has been and gone.

I going to be counting Hawkwind T-Shirts at the Gong gig. Hope to see you guys there - suspect I will be standing somewhere near the bar looking slightly unco-ordinated and glazed over. "Fit for Gong".

I too shall be 'fit for Gong' (although, in reality, I'll probably be wearing a Gong t-shirt) so please everybody - take care not to tread on my fingers as I 'walk' round the gig.
